Welcome to Little Barn Learning

My name is Kaylie Williams, and yes- I live (and teach) in a little barn! I am a licensed Reading Specialist and Dyslexia-specific tutor, with over 10 years of success building strong readers. I have a Bachelor’s in Education from The University of Texas, and a M.Ed in Reading Education from Vanderbilt’s Peabody College of Education. Watching children find their passion for reading is why I’m in this. I would love to help your child grow in reading and confidence, through the Little Barn Learning reading program. How does it work?

  • Whether you're close or far, your child can benefit from exceptional teaching and tutoring with Miss Kaylie.

  • Reading comes easy for some. But for others, it takes lots of skilled practice. I am an expert in teaching reading. I've been specifically teaching reading for 10 years, and I have had hundreds of hours of reading-specific training. It's also what I love to do, and I hope to get better at it every day. Whether your child has dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, speech/language disorders, Autism, or is typically developing- I can help them.

  • Each child has individualized needs, and also benefits from the collective energy and influence of his/her peers. I have options for both 1:1 and small group tutoring. Whether you choose 1:1 or small group, know I have pored over the curriculum, and made distinct choices on how to implement a program that will allow your child to reach some ambitious reading goals.

  • Hesitant to consider online learning? I understand. I think you'll find your student will be captivated and engaged both through in person and online learning. Online learning is through an incredible platform called "ClassIn." It allows you as a parent to access tons of information about your child, and I can give you daily feedback about his/her performance. Ask to see a tour of our online learning software. It's really cool!

  • Did you know feedback is one of the MOST critical parts of effective learning? As a teacher, it's my job to provide specific and timely feedback to children, but I will also provide tons of feedback to you as a parent. Look forward to receiving information on your child's progress DAILY.

  • I have tailor-made a curriculum that meets the individual needs of each child. It takes an expert to know what to teach, how to teach it, and how to respond when kids "get it" and when they don't. 1:1 tutoring is specific to your child. When you enroll your child in small group tutoring, you will receive a detailed "program outline" as well as a comprehensive student notebook that contains all the visuals, graphic organizers, games, texts, etc. your child will be working on throughout the semester. Semesters range from 8-12 weeks, depending on the time of year.
